In January 20, 2022, kids can be seen playing outside their homes in the LRB community while Metro Manila is in Alert Level 1.
The alert level rose as the Omicron variant rapidly pushed the daily tally of COVID-19 cases up.
The pandemic has become a hindrance to such chances for children as they can only play for a limited amount of time. Before COVID-19 came, kids used to do so for hours without thinking about how much time they spent.
But even while they are enjoying themselves, these children did not forget to wear a mask.
UPWARD UP is spearheaded by academics from the Ateneo de Manila University, De la Salle University, and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven for the Alliance of People’s Organizations along the Manggahan Floodways. (english version)
