Members of the APOAMF Youth has joined a youth forum organized non-government organization Simula ng Pag-asa (SIPAG) last February 12 in Baranggay Kapitolyo, Pasig City. The main discussions points focused on becoming a leader and its importance in society.
Led by beauty queen Venus Raj, the forum follows its theme based on one of national hero Jose Rizal’s famous quotes: “The youth is the hope of the nation”. SIPAG Organization coordinated with Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) to invite various youth organizations for their voices to be heard.
According to the participants, the event was successful in presenting its ideas to the youth, and have learned a lot about becoming a leader. They added that it always felt nice to attend these kinds of gatherings as they get to meet others like them who strive for the betterment of the whole country.
They also said that the forum became a chance for them to witness and learn from different experiences shared by community leaders.
UPWARD UP is spearheaded by academics from the Ateneo de Manila University, De la Salle University, and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven for the Alliance of People’s Organizations along the Manggahan Floodways. (english version)
