APOAMF, vice president Leni Robredo, and the other member organizations of ULAP Confed-Samahang Pantao has signed the “Urban Poor Covenant” last January 31 at the Leni-Kiko Volunteer Center in Katipunan, Quezon City.
The covenant is an initiative of the ULAP Confed-Samahang Pantao that focuses on eliminating poverty and providing proper housing to the poor. Member organizations of ULAP Confed, including APOAMF provided their signatures before passing it over to Robredo.
ULAP Confed-Samahang Pantao is just one of the many organizations who signed on the Covenant.
Robredo is one of the candidates running for presidency, while her running mate senator Kiko Pangilinan is vying for the vice president seat. The ULAP-Confed supports this tandem in the upcoming presidential elections this 2022.
According to the president of ULAP-Confed Jonjon Elago, they believe that Robredo is the leader who can bring honor to the Philippines and its people.
“We want a leader that knows how to listen, believe in our capabilities to provide for our own, and recognizes our efforts to choose what is best for us, because we are also a part of a free country,” Elago said.
In APOAMF, Noel Cabangin, Dave David and Jenilyn David led discussions about the covenant to the community prior to the signing.
